This article originally appeared on VICE UK. Look at the top of the all-formats UK game chart this week and you'll see the usual suspects: Grand Theft Auto, FIFA, Call of Duty. That reliably profitable triptych of crime, football, and war. But nestled among them, sitting inexplicably at the number two spot, is a game called Farming Simulator 15. It's the latest in a long line of niche simulator games, but one of the first to make the transition from PC to Xbox and PlayStation. There are simulators for anything you can imagine: Garbage Truck Simulator, European Bus Simulator, London Underground Simulator. But you don't often get the chance to play them on consoles. These games are usually pretty complex, and don't map comfortably to the limited buttons of a controller, but Giants Software's Farming Simulator is pretty simple compared to the confusing multi-button nightmare of a hardcore flight simulator. Farming Simulator 15 inserts you into the mud-caked wellies of a farmer and gives you a vast swathe of land to plough, seed, and harvest. There's no end goal or objectives to complete: you just farm. Forever. You grow crops, harvest them, sell them, and then use the money to buy more seeds and better machinery. The more money you earn, the more cool farming stuff you can do. You spend half your time managing your farm and its finances, and the other driving tractors. This might sound like a bizarre thing to base a video game around, but not everyone wants to pretend they're rugged fantasy warriors or futuristic cyber-soldiers; some people just want to toil on an imaginary farm. I don't know who they are, but they're out there. Simulator games sell better than you might expect, especially in Germany. People love this shit. [bod

Cleveland is a heavy underdog against Golden State in the NBA Finals, and the overwhelming sense seems to be the Warriors will roll in five games, or maybe even sweep LeBron’s Cavs. Nobody’s giving Cleveland much of a chance for many understandable reasons – Kevin Love won’t play, Kyrie Irving isn’t 100%, the Warriors won 67 games and were #1 in offensive and defensive efficiency in the regular season, the East was weak this year … and did I miss anything? [RELATED: The LeBron James Hate Remains Strong, Mystifying] As someone who picked Cleveland over Golden State at the start of the regular season, and then again before the playoffs began, I think the Cavs can win the series, and in the above video, I detail why I think it’ll happen. * Where will Cleveland hide Kyrie Irving? Jason Terry was a disaster defensively, either on Curry on when he got switched onto anyone else. Does Kyrie start on Klay Thompson, and Cleveland put Shumpert on Curry? * The Cavs know what they’ll get from LeBron offensively (his jumper is a key to the series, obviously), JR Smith will be up-and-down, Tristan Thompson will own the glass, and that’s why I think Iman Shumpert is the key to the series at both ends. Shumpert was part of the Knicks team that got lit up by Curry for 54 points in 2013. As you can see here, Shumpert was matched up with him very little: * I put little or no stock in the regular season meetings. The Hawks beat the Cavs in three of four; didn’t matter in the playoffs. For those who do care about the regular season games: – Golden State 112, Cleveland 94 in early January. LeBron didn’t play. Iman Shumpert didn’t play. Kevin Love did (17 points, 14 rebounds), Mike Miller started. The host Warriors shot 50 percent, led by 24 from Klay and 23 from Curry. – Cleveland 110, Golden State 99 in late February. LeBron scored 42 points on 25 shots in 36 minutes. Kyrie Irving scored 24 points. The Warriors couldn’t guard either of them. Golden State only shot 42 percent, and Klay and Curry struggled (10-of-30)...

J.R. Smith hasn’t been shy about throwing his negative feelings about the Knicks on Instagram, but the Cavaliers guard apparently doesn’t hold anything against Carmelo Anthony, his former team’s star. Smith sent out birthday wishes to Anthony on Friday. “All day everyday since day 1! Love you bro!” he wrote. Anthony turned 31 on Friday.

There is but one car that I must have before I die: a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. No, I don't want to paint it Competition Orange and slap a Confederate flag on the roof—but yes, that is the same car from The Dukes of Hazzard. There is but one and only one reason why I want an R/T before I leave this earth: my father. Although dead for over a decade now, I can't help but thinking about the old man and the car he loved. Of course Dad did have an R/T. It was positively his pride and joy and he could not wait to get home off the road (dad was a truck driver up until the day he died) and take me, my brother, and my mother out in that car. Now I couldn't tell any of you what kind of engine dad had in his R/T. To this very day I swear to any and all that the car was a dark blue but my brother will swear on his life that it was green. I don't know which of us is right because there are no pictures of Dad and his car nor any paperwork left in the family records to tell us. I know that I could look it up if I really wanted, but maybe my brother is right and I just don't want to admit it. Either way, it really doesn't matter if it was blue or green—it only matters how it made Dad feel and how he made us feel when driving that car. I do recall (and my brother agrees) that the interior was black and it reeked of Old Spice. Personally, I always loved getting behind the wheel of the car when dad was out on the road. I would pretend for hours on end that it was my car and I was hauling around my wife and kids. Some days, even my brother would join in and we would make a day of it. Dad died in an accident while out on a run when I was 10 years old. Mom was forced to sell that R/T of Dad's and our lives were simply never the same again. Maybe I am obsessed with owning an R/T because I want to recapture that happiness I felt when Dad took all of us out when he was home. I have never felt that feeling since. Then again, maybe I just love the cool hidden headlights and the thought of 400 HP under the hood!

Last week, Arizona’s This Century announced that their upcoming album Soul Sucker (slated for release June 2nd) will be their last as a band. In an excerpt of their announcement posted for fans, the band explained how they reached the decision and chose to record and release this record as their farewell. “…after eight amazing and fulfilling years, we will be closing this chapter of our lives and stepping out into the next. This band has allowed us to grow and learn more about each other than we ever thought we would, and we all feel like we’re better people because of that and because of you guys. We love each other like brothers, we always have and we always will, so we’re happy to say this isn’t a result of anything negative. This Century has been an amazing experience, but we unanimously agreed while we were making this new album that it was time to move on to pursue each of our passions and musical projects. We wanted to see this album through, however, and make it a great final record for ourselves, but more importantly, for the people who have supported us for so long. We’d like to think of this album as a celebration of the music we’ve been able to create with each other against all the odds and circumstances we’ve faced.” Soul Sucker drops via 8123 next week worldwide – on Tuesday June 2nd 2015. Since the album’s announcement, the band has released a brand new music video for the title track off the upcoming record. The video, directed by Noemi Gonzalez and shot in their hometown features This Century vocalist Joel Kanitz in a uniquely shot one-take video. The music video premiered via Vevo earlier this month. This Century will celebrate the record’s release with one final tour as a band featuring their original lineup – which includes bassist Alex Silverman who departed the band early last year. Their final shows will feature performances in California along with a hometown show in Phoenix. More dates will be announced soon. Fans can expect to see the band perform a setlist of new songs off of Soul...

(Brad Mills, USA TODAY Sports) We have enough of a sample size in the 2015 fantasy baseball season to dissect who’s good, who’s bad, and who’s not for real. The same can be said for daily fantasy sports. Here are a few notes that we can glean from FantasyScore’s Top Player Report, updated through Wednesday’s games. I am a fine art photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For 10 months I have been photographing my bunnies that I adopted. Not only are they adorable companions, they are also great models. The last time I shared some of their photos on the internet, people from all over the world said they loved them. That inspired me a lot and I decided to continue my project. This time I got the chance to photograph these little ones. One month ago, my bunny Tooni had four babies. This was such a wonderful and happy moment for me – it was like a celebration of new lives! Each and every day from their birth was special to me. Watching them growing up everyday, opening their eyes for the first time, wiggling their tiny feet… everything was just so special and magical to me! I thought I’d try to capture those moments and share the happiness with other people. As I already photographed bunnies, this time it was easy to do, and because I was with them from their birth, they are very comfortable with me. I just let them play around and act cute while I keep pressing my shutter. I hope that these photos will make people happy and put smiles on their faces – and also make them love bunnies more. Bunnies are wonderful animals – they have emotions and compassion like us humans, and I’ve felt it. Put down the high-priced energy drink, the soda, the canned liquid sugar. We’ve got the boost you need, and it’s one of the easiest DIY hacks you’ll ever make. Enter switchel, a tart and pleasantly pungent mix of apple cider vinegar and maple syrup that’s diluted with water and drunk as an alterna-energy and electrolyte boost. Brad Leone, Bon Appétit‘s Test Kitchen manager is a devoted switchel fan—so much so that he created his own recipe for it. “I just love it,” he says. Farmer’s relief, as Leone calls switchel, is refreshing and a great DIY alternative to bottled drinks. Here’s what you need to know about making your own switchel. Use the Best Ingredients You Can Find There aren’t many ingredients in switchel—ours contains fresh ginger juice for some zing, citrus, maple, apple cider vinegar, and seltzer (plus optional mint). With such a simple list, it’s important to use the best version of every ingredient you can find (no fake syrup allowed). Besides: Switchel is essentially a health tonic. It’s only as virtuous as its parts. Big-Batch It and Sip All Week This recipe easily doubles, triples, and quadruples, making it great for storing in the fridge—or sharing with friends. Dilute With Seltzer for a Fizzy Kick Like cold-brew coffee, we like to make a concentrated batch of switchel and dilute it with water or seltzer throughout the week. Add more water for a thinner drink; less for a more syrupy consistency. Why use seltzer? “It’s fun!” says Leone. Keep It All In Balance Pure maple syrup is seriously saccharine. It’s easy to go overboard when mixing a batch of switchel, so start with less syrup than you think you’ll want. You can always add more later, but you can’t remove it from the batch. Says Leone, “A good switchel should quench your thirst, not coat your mouth.” Make It a Mixer Could you add alcohol to your switchel? We’re 99.9% positive it’s been done before. (Okay, 100%. The writer of this article confesses). But it’s also a great mixer for NA cocktails, as well. Take it from Leone: “...

I need to make these tacos, they’re all I think about. Pretty please?”–Jungleen Bae, Winnetka, CA Matt Carter, chef at The Mission, says: “Tecate is my go-to drinking beer, and it happens to be perfect for marinating steak. I tried other styles and kept coming back to Tecate: It tenderizes a tough cut and imparts a funky flavor.” The Recipe: Fennel-Honey Granola at The Line Hotel in Los Angeles “Dear Bon Appétit, The yogurt parfait with spiced granola from The Line Hotel in L.A. is the only dish from our whole California vacation that we still talk about. We want to know how they do it!”–Ben Halpern & Carrie McKnelly, Cambridge, MA Marian Mar, pastry chef at The Line Hotel, says: “Nutty granola needs a lot of acid and creaminess to cut through. The EP titled, Lone Wolf, streets on June 16th via CD and digital download. “Jessica Lee Wilkes has a real, true rock n’ roll heart,” JD McPherson enthuses, “and that voice of hers is like a wisp of smoke creeping under the threshold; expect an explosion.” In 2014 Jessica toured non-stop with Plowboy Records band JD Wilkes & The Dirt Daubers. She gained the attention of outlets like The Examiner who reported “…Jessica is (the) sultry female foil, a silky-voiced songbird who can channel the lounge…of the 1930s and ‘40s as easily as the soul divas of the ‘60s. She’s just as comfortable playing vulnerable damsel as vixen vamp…” West Coast music website Fear and Loathing wrote “Jessica Wilkes’ smoky vocals provide the ultimate compliment to [the Dirt Daubers’] country punk free for all.” Indeed, for the past five years she’s been a key member of the JD Wilkes & The Dirt Daubers, penning songs, sharing lead vocal duties, and playing a critical role in furthering the groove and swagger the band is known for via her dynamic stage presence. It’s been a joy to watch the blossoming friendship of LeBron and JR Smith, and sometimes, I imagine myself alongside the duo, the pair gleefully carrying me on their backs for a ride to the Finals. JR Smith spent the last couple years in basketball purgatory in New York, and suddenly, he’s been thrust onto a team alongside the greatest basketball player on the planet, and he’s all smiles, all the time. Whether it’s having the back of teammate Kevin Love, going bonkers from downtown against the Hawks or dominating social media, JR Smith seems to be having the time of his life. Tell me you wouldn’t love the role of being a guy who starts on the bench, and comes in with a singular purpose: Get buckets. Take any shot you want, just get me some buckets, Swish. This celebration video, taken in a hot tub, perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the 2014-2015 Cavs (and perhaps partially explains why Kevin Love never fit in, on or off the court). There’s so much to unpack here: Iman Shumpert posing like he knows this is going viral; wiry Kyrie Irving flexing, finally a winner; designated goon Kendrick Perkins clutching ice packs on his knees; ‘Bron looking like the guy who is the first NBA player in over 50 years to go to five straight NBA Finals. I need to go download this song. (Been laughing at these cartoonish lyrics all morning.) Maybe then, we can all be friends. The real question will be whether or not it is their final celebration video of the season. A lot of folks think the Warriors are going to smoke them in the Finals. I’m not so sure … yet. If you cook on the regular, you’ve probably been faced with a fresh herb-surplus. Gardeners know that herbs grow like, well, weeds—and those who purchase their sage, parsley, and thyme are often left with more than they need after using them for that one dinner recipe. Don’t let your herbs go wild in the soil or mold in the fridge. We’ve got 11 great ideas for using every last leaf, from the ridiculously easy (make a salad) to the seriously DIY (infuse an oil). Spicy Lamb and Lentils with Herbs. Photo: Nicole Franzen Make a Big Salad If you love a big, green salad, it’s time to think beyond the romaine (or spinach, or arugula) and start adding fresh herbs to the mix. A lot of fresh herbs: We’re talking handfuls here. Stick with tender herbs like parsley, cilantro, chervil, tarragon, mint, and dill—save the woodier herbs, like sage and rosemary, for cooking. Rinse them clean, pat dry, then pull the leaves from the stems and add them, whole, to any salad. The big pieces of herb add a fresh note to greens, much like citrus zest. Go easy on the dressing—a light vinaigrette is a much better match for herbs than a creamy buttermilk ranch. Want to bulk it up? Cooked meat, like steak or sautéed ground lamb, and grains, like bulgur wheat, make it a meal. Salted Meyer Lemon and Sage Pressé. Photo: Stephan Lewis Cook a Simple Syrup Add a big handful of fresh herbs to a basic mixture of equal parts sugar and water, bring to a boil, stir, and then remove from the heat. Once completely cooled, strain out the herbs (discard), and use the simple syrup to sweeten iced coffee and tea, cocktails, and anything else your heart desires. Mint works well in a simple syrup, and we especially like rosemary syrup in our lattes—it’s an unexpected savory-sweet twist. Creamy Herb Dressing. Photo: Yossy Arefi Put ‘Em in a Salad Dressing Fresh herbs are a perfect match for small-batch salad dressings and vinaigrettes. They round out the fatty and sharp flavors from the oil and vinegar (or citrus juice) with a vegetal note. A ...
